Centuries of history in one ancient church
In San Polo, a little village 30 minutes drive from Reggio Emilia, there is a church, whose name is PIEVE DI CAVILIANO.
It very nice is in the industrial area and it is easy to reach.
The church was built in Romanesque style, then rebuilt over the centuries in several architectural styles.
The façade is in Baroque style, while the interior dates back to the fifteenth century.
As you enter the church, you can admire a fresco representing the Virgin.
A flight of steps leads you to the cript where you can admire the Romanesque capitals.
