EVALUATION

WELCOME TO I.T.G. “SECCHI”
It was a great experience for our school to host the first Project Meeting for the Comenius school project Together in Europe for a Better Environment .
Each delegation brought to Reggio Emilia a taste of their own culture and shared it with the other partners. This is a good step toward peaceful and tolerant society and it has a great educational impact on our pupils: we can learn a lot from dialogue with other cultures, by comparing lifestyles and attitudes.
The topic of the project is of great importance, too. The safeguard of the environment we live in depends largely on the awareness we have of its problems. As a school we feel that educating teenagers to learn about the scientific and social aspects of environment will help them to be better citizens and work actively for its preservation.
Finally I wish to thank the Comenius European Agency for allowing the Meeting and giving us such a wonderful opportunity to meet and share our cultures.
A heartly thank to all the participants for coming to Reggio Emilia and best wishes for the proceeding of the project!

At first all of us were scared and shy, but the next day we started with our presentations and we think it was the breaking point of our friendship. We saw a lot of similarities of our cultures, interests, hobbies and we realised that the students are the same everywhere-friendly, open, talkative, easygoing, outgoing-simply accepting each other.

With the beginning of this project our school started a completely new and different era. We turned our faces to Europe and European friends. We worked hard together with our student and teachers all through the year. But all these efforts were very fruitful, and all the people involved were pleased to be involved, work for this project and meet new people from the partner countries. Consquently, all the activities we and the partner schools have done were quite successful. It is the best activity we have carried out so far in our school.

We learnt about the level of pollution in our city. Also, we learnt a lot about other countries' culture, folklore, lifestyle and educational systems as well as introducing our own country to our partners. Our students got a different view of Europe, people living there, their culture. Besides they realized the importance of a common language to communicate well. In addition, they came to a conclusion that we should act together as one body to challenge with all the problems, including pollution.

It was a special experience, so beautiful and educational. We talked English every day and every hour, enriching our lexicon. The European guys were very funny and nice! I'm so happy for this project that we are doing because we got involved a lot. It was beautiful and I'm ready to do it again!
Italian student

It was the best way possible to improve our English and to learn more about the use of ICT. On this occasion we learned about the every day life from Italian and Polish families, as the students spent most of their time with their hosts. Teachers learned more about the educational system from the visited countries. We learned about the ecological way of living from other countries.

And the most interesting thing is that we're very glad we've met all of you. And we hope we've made good friends during such a short visit for the meeting and together will be able to do a lot of good and useful things for our environment.

Finally, I would like to say that not only a firm friendship among the students and teachers from 6 culturally different countries was born, but also our common environmental problems were discussed. I hope, that the ways of sorting them out in the next 3 years will connect us more. They will develop our awareness of global problems which don´t consider the borders among countries being any obstacles.
