The story of  building.

Architecture tells the story of building.  From the first Stone Age hut to the skyscrapers of today, it  tells you how some of the world’s most extraordinary buildings were built, what they were like inside and who lived in them.

Buildings.

This games arena is called the Colosseum.  The ancient Romans built it 2,000 years ago.

The Taj Mahal was built as the tomb of an Indian Empress in 1653.  

The Opera House was built in Sydney, Australia, in 1973
In the Middle Ages most houses had a wooden frame
The Empire State Building in New York has 102 storeys. It was built in 1931

The Ancient Egyptians built the Pyramids over 4,500 years ago.

This cathedral was built in Moscow in 1561.

The Greeks built a  marble temple in Athens called Parthenon over 2,000 years ago.

 

Stone Age men built Stonehenge around 4,000 years ago

Japanese nobles built  a lot of  castles around 450 years ago.
